What happened to Leadership for High Performing Teams? Is this the same program?

An interview with Sarah Shields about The Art of Inclusive Leadership

Where are the offsites held in Spain?

Our offsites are held in Barcelona province in both Caldes d'Estrac and Arenys de Mar depending on availability. In fall 2024, all of our offsites will be held in Caldes d'Estrac.

What airport should we use if coming to the offsites?

We recommend Barcelona airport (BCN) but for those coming from within Europe there is a chance that Girona (GRO) will be more cost effective. Our airport transfers are to Barcelona airport but if an entire group is coming to Girona we can adjust accordingly. We cannot do this for public offerings.

What time does the event start?

Check-in to the hotel is at 15:00 on Sunday. If we have a group arriving earlier, we will make our best effort to allow early check in with the hotel. We will have a welcome reception at 18:00.

What is the dress code for the offsite?

In general, we are casual here on the coast. Dress for the event is casual, but we ask that you not wear track suits/work out clothes, beachwear, or items with offensive language. In general people dress smart casual for work events. Jeans and sneakers/trainers are perfectly acceptable in Spain.

What do I need to do to prepare for the program?

Mindset:

  • Ability to be clear of distractions with a calm quiet place to participate.
  • Willingness and time to put in the work outside the weekly group sessions.
  • Interest in setting aside pre-conceived ideas and opening mind to new techniques.

Technology:

  • Camera, microphone, computer, appropriate internet bandwidth.
  • Mobile phone with data plan for activity check-in when away from computer.
  • Basic understanding of online tools or willingness to take extra time to learn.

How is the material presented?

All content used in the program is posted on the learning dashboard and as appropriate available for download. All virtual group coaching sessions are recorded and posted to the dashboard after the session as well. In addition, we have an online support community to share and ask questions.

What is Agility for All doing to create more sustainable programs?

  • For our virtual programs, all materials are presented and shared digitally. For in-person programs, we allow each participant to make their choice for their learning style, but encourage using digital media.
  • For offsites, we use local vendors, restaurants that support 0-3km use of food, do not provide or support the use of single-use plastics, and are low-tech during the event.
  • Whenever possible, we encourage local transportation options and have even started our offsites on trains to the venue so that participants get to know each other.

What accommodations are made for participants if needed?

Agility for All tries to create an inclusive environment for all of our programs. However, we have to know that there is an accommodation needed in advance to work on a solution. Our online sessions are held on Google Meet with captioning available. We add pictures/photos to our content for visual appeal but when possible do not make them essential to learning. Where they are a necessary element, we do our best to provide accurate descriptions.

For our in-person corporate offsites we make every possible attempt to provide accessible spaces. In Spain this is sometimes difficult with older venues, but we will adjust where possible or propose alternate solutions with appropriate advance notice. We also try to use a variety of techniques in our programs to reach different learning styles

What is the program about exactly? What is the added value participants will take out from it?

Explore your leadership identity and uncover the strengths that set you apart. In our group coaching program, we'll tackle the tough questions:
- 🚀 Who are you as a leader?
- 🗣 How can you ensure everyone's voice is heard?
- 🧠 What do you need to know about bias?
- 🌱 How do you create a truly safe culture?
- 💭 What is clear, intentional communication?

The program is intended to allow participants to learn, practice, share, ask, and grow in an intensive, but safe and inclusive space in Spain. Our intent is to give you the skills and tools needed to operate in the leadership space of 2024 and beyond. You should be able to use everything you learn immediately and we will help you create an action plan to keep your learning journey going.

Who are the coaches?

Indra has a wide range of skills and talents and to get to know her better we suggest you visit her LinkedIn profile and website. As other coaches are added to round out the expertise, the page will be updated.

What’s the USP? Why is it unique?

We have worked very hard at putting together a program that not only creates space for learning the pillars of leadership in high performing organizations but is flexible enough to allow for adaptation to the program as needed to meet the participants where they are and tackle what they need. Having the program in Spain allows us to also embrace the culture of work to live, not live to work and allows us to create a sustainable program free from day-to-day distractions.

How do you plan to personalize the program experience for participants?

We have time built into the program for individuals to receive 1:1 coaching as well as group coaching sessions where the participants create the talking points. We also have self-reflection and pair work time built into the program.

Can you discuss any experiential learning opportunities or hands-on activities included in the program curriculum?

The entire program is experiential and hands-on. We don't believe in lecturing you into learning. We will certainly give specifics and best practices and share our own experiences and stories but then we will have activities to challenge participants to put what they have learned into practice. We also have a journal for reflection and additional notes and practices specific to each individual's needs and experiences.

Can you share any success stories or testimonials from previous participants of your workshops / previous clients?

Rather than list them here, we encourage you to visit the full program page and our websites were we have testimonials and case studies

What ongoing support or resources will be available to participants after they complete the program?

Once a participant is registered, there is an online Welcome module that walks them through all of the details of the program and even provides bonus info on traveling to Spain. In this Welcome module, we also gather information on individual participant needs.

During the program, we use various tools in-person and also have a journal for participants that is available as print or digital.

And after the program we have ongoing community support through the learning portal as well as a check-in group coaching call a few months after the program.

In what ways does the program incorporate principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion?

We have made the activities and programming as accessible as possible and will accommodate specific needs as needed. In addition, we offer all of our materials in digital format for consumption at one's own pace. And we have a group coaching code of ethics for everyone to follow to ensure equal access to information and opportunities. In addition, as coaches, we are constantly monitoring the group which we intentionally keep small and will adjust programming as needed. We also provide 1:1 guidance for those who have a matter they want to work on in private.

How does the program encourage self-reflection and personal growth for participants beyond traditional leadership skills?

The entire program is designed to support and encourage self-reflection. In addition, we have activities whose results are not shared with other participants for people to do self-work as well as those that are shared for group coaching and mentoring.

Why this location? What are the benefits of this place?

The culture of Spain encourages people to live in the moment and this particular space is in a small town with access to amenities but a quieter approach to life. The space itself is one that allows people to disconnect and have space to do the work that they need to do for their leadership journey. And from a sustainability perspective we use local vendors and support 0-3km food whenever possible.

What are the benefits of an offsite program?

Choosing our Art of Inclusive Leadership program is an investment in unlocking the full leadership potential of your team, fostering a culture of excellence, and positioning your organization for sustained success in a competitive market. Read more about the power of offsites.
